About Captain Lewie

Captain Jonathan Lewie is the founder of Pura Vida Charters. He is a fishing fanatic who developed a love of fishing at an early age. Jonathan started commercial fishing for striped bass at the age of 6 and has continued to both commercial and recreational fish until this day.  Jonathan has caught sailfish and marlin in Costa Rica, landed bonefish in the Carribean, spent many winter trips catching numerous tarpon in the Florida Keys, and even has fly caught steelhead and wild atlantic salmon. Locally, Jonathan specializes in trophy striped bass and inshore tuna.  His performance has placed him in local fishing tournaments as well as regional tournaments. His wealth of fishing experience and knowledge will ensure you have the experience of a lifetime aboard Pura Vida Charters.

Mission Statement

After multiple trips to Costa Rica I developed an appreciation for the Pura Vida lifestyle that exists there. This will be reflected in every trip aboard my boat.  The environment will be a learning environment, constant positivity and energy, as well as a unique approach to fishing. My goal is to put a personal best fish on the deck for every individual that fishes on my boat.
